Yarns: risk in changing oscilator to CV on the fly

Hello there, I guess its time for me to add my noob question to the pile.

I read on this forum that it is unlikely to damage anything in mutable module range and in eurorack in general by pluging something on something else, except maybe in the case of multing CV (???)

But what about sending CV instead of audio to an external device, such an amp or an audio interface?

I am thinking about Yarns, where you can change an audio output to a CV output on a single knob move. Is there any risk if I end sending this cv to my digital recorder?

Thanks a lot!

Where did you get the information that multing CV can damage anything?

You won’t damage anything by passively multing a CV. The only “risk” is that if your CV source is poorly designed (this won’t happen with any Mutable Instruments CV source!), you’ll have a drop of pitch the more destinations you mult it to.

No, there is no such risk. CV or audio, it’s a small voltage like any other… You’ll hear a little click/pop at each discontinuity (note change) in the CV signal and that’s it.

Probably on reddit, which is full of noobs just like me. Thanks a lot for making this clear.

Merci beaucoup.

Thank you very much taking the time to answer me
