The toy that came with my new Shelves is sort of a wooden bell. What is this called? Where can I read more about it?
The bell and the spinning top that come with the modules are a traditional craft of Karnataka - Wrightia wood turned on a lathe and finished with natural lac.

What sort of wood? Strictly speaking, these items should be declared for inspection under Australian quarantine and biosecurity regulations, even for “personal imports” - in the same way that all wooden items must be declared for inspection at the airport when entering Australia. But I won’t tell anyone…
