I bought a Clouds a few months back and just recently the input volume knob has become very wobbly. It crackles and turns on and off. On closer inspection it turns out the only knob which isn’t bolted to the faceplate is the input volume. Is this normal? Do I need to replace the encoder?
> Is this normal?
Yes, the first two batches of Clouds used a plastic knob without threading - that was the only part available at the time. For the later batches I paid the tooling for a custom part with threading.
But it’s not normal that it’s broken. Send me back the module and I’ll replace the part.

It’s a potentiometer, not an encoder.
Thanks for the technical correction.
Also thanks for the offer of replacing the part, however i’m not too keen to send the module all the way from Aus to Europe due to cost and distance. I am able with a soldering iron, will it be safe for me to replace the potentiometer? If so could you give me a part number?

No, it’s a custom-made part. Give me your address and I’ll mail you one.
Thank you Pichenettes. I very much appreciate it! Just sent you a message
