SMR4 card not lighting up [Fixed:Firmware reinstall]

I assembled 6 cards but one is not responding to midi and data does not come on when I enable it in voices. I have tried moving it around, checking solder for any bridging or cold. Where do I check for voltages on the card? I tried the first pin on the DAC chip and got nothing while on the others I get about 4.7 volts. Don’t remember now since i checked last night and I’m at work now but either way there is no voltage on this card. Thanks for any help.

Tried reinstalling the firmware.

Thanks for the response. What happens that causes the firmware to go poof?
Noob question. Do I need an SPI programmer to do this or is it something I can just drop on the SD card and flash with? Is this what I do? http://mutable-instruments.net/ambika/build/firmware.
Thanks again.

The voicecard bootloader has this protection scheme: if it detects that the card is power-cycled rapidly without having the time to boot correctly, it locks itself in firmware update mode - because it assumes that the cycles are caused by corrupted firmware data.

You might have accidentally caused several rapid power cycles while testing things.

No, this is a firmware update through the SD card, as documented in the user manual.

Can I get the ambika_voicecard.bin from http://mutable-instruments.net/static/firmware/ ?
Or is that bin file too old?
My working cards show v1.0

It’s a year old, but I doubt that there are any more recent files - just try it

Yes, you can use that file. The voicecard code is very stable

I just did it and bam! Thanks Oliver and V’cent!
