Pots/Encoders with LED Rings?

What’s the feasibility of using pots/encoders with LED rings to show the value of the parameter or the knob. This type of visual feedback is great and it looks great. The best example I can think of is on the Moog Phatties.

Anyway, would this be possible on the Mutable Instruments platform (maybe someday)?

Very unlikely in the current state of things (affordable kits, DIY-friendly designs, low-volume production).
