Phonogene vs el cap

Hey guys - I have an El cap - V2 stereo. Phonogene sounds incredible. I want it. Do i need it? Would one replace the other happily?

You don’t exactly “need” either :wink:

Phonogene doesn’t sound incredible. It’s incredibly… harsh ; and the pitch-shifter is naive (classic crossfaded dual play-head). CV control saves the deal. So if you’re looking for a classic delay sound to sweeten things, keep the strymon.

@Pichenettes I thought it sounded pretty low-res, too, just from listening to YouTube demos on my laptop speakers. I think there’s a gap in the market for something with a similar (or even identical) feature-set, but with reasonable audio quality.
