On BOM Digital control board Shruti-1 / Yellow Magic Shruthi-1 : R20 : resistor 6,80 Ohm or 68 Ohm?

Hello

On Digital Control Board Yellow Magic BOm here R20 is 6.8 Ohm
On Digital Control Board Shruti-1 BOm here R20 is 68 Ohm

Is it a mistake please ?

Not a mistake (note is at the bottom of the Yellow Magic build instructions above Kudos).

“Control board assembly instructions. Note that a 6.8 ohm resistor should be used instead of 68 (R20 in the schematics) to increase the brightness of the display. And don’t forget to solder the 1x6 “expansion connector” on the bottom left of the control board!”

Arrgghh …

I must read Assembly instructions correctly
I must read Assembly instructions correctly
I must read Assembly instructions correctly

Thank you FP

Once I soldered a 68K there at R20, and couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t read anything on the display. Took a little while to figure out what was going on.

The light was on (LED), but no one was home.

10 pichenettes doesn’t make mistakes
20 GOTO 10

Things would have been much easier if I had decided that there would have been only one color of display, and would have set the resistor value accordingly… But each LCD module requires a different value, and using a trimmer is excluded as some LCD modules can be damaged if the value is incorrectly set (as I have learned with the optrex…)
