Multi-Filter Question

Hi,

I know similar topics have been discussed before, but there are several things that I failed to understand yet:
I want to use one (XT) control board to run two filer boards. If I just connect both of them, will they also play simultaneously? So that I can use a mixer to choose which of them (or both) is hearable?
If so, is this also true for the combination SMR4 MKII + Polivoks? I understand that there are some problems particular for this combination (http://mutable-instruments.net/forum/discussion/1305/how-connecting-a-second-filter-to-shruthi-/p1).

The general rule of running multiple filter boards: don’t do it.

> will they also play simultaneously?

Yes.

> So that I can use a mixer to choose which of them (or both) is hearable?

Yes.

> If so, is this also true for the combination SMR4 MKII + Polivoks?

Yes and no. The Polivoks filter has a different CV range, so sending control signals tailored for the Polivoks filter board to the SMR4 filter board will result with sounds with a low cutoff and an uneven resonance.

ok understood. thanks for the answer!
