Firmware, v0.54

Dang! The kits ship with a version of the firmware that has a bug. It’s hidden deep in the selection of non-western tunings: the labels that scroll do not match the actual scale. If your kit shipped today, you’ll have to upgrade. I’ll work tomorrow on a tool to push and archive firmware upgrade .mid and .hex…

The good news is that I’ve revamped this feature. In particular, the ragas mode was confusing because: a/ it used the carnatic melakarta ragas which are a big matrix/combinatorial construction filled with possibilities seldom used; b/ it allowed notes outside of the raga to be played, so if you didn’t know which notes the raga was made of, you had no idea how to find your way through it. Thanks to the guy in this video, I have replaced it by a more concise selection of ragas (and yes, it’ll be easy to find out which notes belong to the scale).

I will spend some time tomorrow with this new version to potentially track other problems…
