Wasn’t sure where to put this. But this is an interesting product, works on DIP chips too.
I use it all the time. Also handy for difficult pins in TH parts (like ground pins), i’ll just add this to the solder joint and it will be more cooperative. The only thing I dont like about it is that you need a ton of it to get a chip off and it gets the chip crazy hot (usually destroying it). Hot air gun is better for this
I need to remove two eproms soldered into my ESQ-M (so I can fit sockets and do the SQ80M mod), so was looking for a way of doing so without damaging the PCB. This seemed to be a good option.
What do you think?
In the end I did the leg cutting with Dremel trick.
